CAMPS

Cadets of all ages will have the opportunity to attend camps as part of their cadet life.  Every year, cadets are given the opportunity to attend Annual Camps on operational RAF Stations, which allow the cadets to see what life is like in the RAF.  Additionally there are Overseas Camps, RIAT and fieldcraft camps.

Annual Camps

These are generally held in the school holidays (Easter, Summer, October) and run Saturday-Saturday.  Cadets will stay on the RAF station, eat on the RAF station in the airmens' mess, visit different sections on the RAF station as well as partake in numerous cadet and social activities and generally have lots of fun!

Overseas Camps

Once you reach the age of 16, the opportunity of Annual camp abroad is opened up to you.  Overseas camps happen in either Cyprus, Gibraltar or Germany and take much the same format as annual camps in the UK, only with better weather!

RIAT

For the last three years, staff and cadets of 1924 Sqn have been part of the Surrey Wing contingent at the UK's biggest airshow, the Royal International Air Tattoo.  This camp sees cadets and staff accommodated in tents and assisting with the running of the airshow.  This could include escorting royalty, assisting with VIPs, or even making breakfast for the rest of the camp!  However the reward for this is access-all-areas of the airshow.

Squadron / Wing Greens Camp

Each October the sqn runs a camp aimed at newer cadets, to introduce them to life as an Air Cadet.  This involves lots of activities designed to assist with teamwork and leadership, and gives the cadets lots of support and encouragement in their development as cadets.

Surrey Wing run their own camp in April that gives cadets the chance to do activities such as abseiling, climbing, navigation and numerous others designed to test and develop their teamwork.
